Can I take LifePak ESSENTIALS if I am diabetic, or have cancer/hypertension/heart disease/etc.?
A. It is advised on the label to consult with a physician in the case of medical conditions. Pharmanex is not qualified to make these types of recommendations. Certain conditions or medications may be contraindicated with certain ingredients in the Pharmanex products. For all products that contain chromium persons being diabetics and hypoglycemics need to consult a doctor prior to its use. This is primarily for insulin-dependent (Type l) diabetics, but also for Type ll diabetics. The reason for the warning is because chromium can affect insulin levels, therefore altering a diabetic’s normal maintenance regimen of their condition (food, exercise, medication).
