Your Mom can sue him for divorce buy she is responsible for all the bills that they had together if she wants to keep the house if not she will have to file for bankruptcy. husbands and wives walk out on each other all the time sorry but it;s true.Life is not fair never has been and never will be.Bottom line is you cannot sue him.

Yes if they’re married. If not, then there’ll be problems. But if the two of them are married then definitely can sue him. Talk to an Attorney for advice.

No you can not sue your parents. Assuming your parents were married, and assuming that your Mom is going to file for divorce, then this sort of thing is taken care of in the property settlement part of the divorce. Given that he has abandoned the family and left large debts I’d be willing to bet your Mom will get a pretty good divorce settlement. (PLEASE tell me you have closed ALL your bank accounts, and this guy isn’t sitting in on a beach in Nicaragua charging rum drinks with your family’s debit card!!! You need to call the Credit card companies NOW and have them cancell ALL cards that your Mom is on. You can’t cancel cards in HIS name, but joint cards you should be able to cancell. You might want to give the credit card company a “heads up” though that he has fled the country and plans on defaulting on his debts…they would probably be interested to learn that, and I bet THEY might want to cancell his cards under those circumstances.) Getting the divorce settlement will be pretty
