Can I sue a hospital for negligence?
In many case a hospital can also be held liable for medical negligence. This occurs in one of two ways. Either the negligent medical professional is contracted in such a way as to place liability on the hospital, or the hospital itself contributed to the patients damages. This can occur in situations where the hospital environment contributed to the patients injury. A common example is in operating rooms. If the room is under-equipped, the doctor may be unable to perform his/her duty to the standard of care required.
