Can I substitute regular coffee for instant coffee/espresso?

0

A recipe calls for 2 teaspoons of instant coffee but I only have regular coffee and don’t want to buy a whole can of instant for only 2 teaspoons. Can I use the regular coffee as a substitute? You can but….instant coffee will dissolve, and the regular coffee grounds won’t. If you don’t want the grounds in your recipe, you could strain them through a fine mesh sieve. Or you could make some coffee and reduce it by boiling it for a while.
