Can I submit a story with a theme that does not fit any books listed on the Calls for Submissions?
Yes. We accept “open” submissions at any time. However, we do not review open submissions until and unless we are working on a book or contest for which it might be appropriate. That’s why it is important for you to designate the theme of any open submission; the Submission Form includes a field for this purpose. We cannot guarantee that we will publish a book related to your story. Therefore, it is best to submit stories only for the books/contests currently listed in the Call for Submissions.
