Can I study the Bachelor of Actuarial Studies by distance education?
No, most of the Bachelor of Actuarial Studies units are not available by distance education. The Part II (Control Cycle) subjects are available by distance education, but you must complete Part I before starting Part II If you wish to obtain Part I actuarial qualifications by distance education you could join the Institute of Actuaries of Australia as a student member. The Institute of Actuaries has a distance education course which is run by the Actuarial Education Service (known as ACTED). ACTED will provide study materials and then you can sit for the professional examinations for the Part I subjects. After completing the Part I subjects, you can complete the Part II examinations by distance education through Macquarie University.
