Yes. The Web Daemon has a disable acceleration option which is displayed on the start button and within the dropdown list from the system tray. Choosing disable acceleration will not shutdown the Web Daemon but will allow Internet Explorer to interact directly with the internet. You can choose to remove the HTTP proxy settings from within the browser preferences to stop acceleration. If you wish to unload the Web Daemon, you can stop automatic start from within the options from the “advanced” tab, then restart windows. Alternately, you can end the process “propelac” from within the windows task list.
