Can I still submit my hair if it has been permed, dyed, or colored?
If you color or treat your head hair with chemical dyes or bleaches, or if you do not have enough head hair due to chemotherapy or genetics, it is recommend to use pubic hair. Make sure to clearly mark on the submission form the type of hair submitted. One patient submitted chest hair, and the hair analysis can be done for animals, too. You can still submit head hair if it has been permed, dyed, or colored. After you have purchased the hair analysis, mark the indicated space on the submission form that the head hair submitted has chemicals on it. The lab then sets the parameters to consider that false chemicals may be present on your results.
