Can I still plug in my old Xbox memory units into the new Xbox 360 controller?

No. Xbox 360 introduced new memory units with the Xbox 360. The previous generation units are not compatible. In addition, Microsoft has removed the memory unit connection from the controller to the console itself. No longer are you required to game with the headset puck and memory unit in your controller. What this does mean however is that you can only have 3 memory items connected to your Xbox 360 at one time, as opposed to 4. This is 2 memory units and one hard drive.
