Can I still apply for grants? If so, which ones?

You have missed the deadline for your state grants so you won’t get any for the whole 08-09 year. (This is the year that just started). When you apply you apply for the whole year and March 2 was prob the priority deadline, meaning most folks who turned in the application before this date and who were poor enough would get the money. The ABSOLUTE final deadline was prob Sept 2, meaning IF the state had not run out of money you might still get one, but not likely. (At least it is this way in my state, state grant money runs out fast). You can get grants from many sources, but the FAFSA application would be the app for your Pell grant and your state grants (CAL). You need to make SURE you do another FAFSA in Feb so you don’t miss the priority deadline for next year (2009-2010). Yes, you are applying 7 months early, but this is what it takes. Who knows how many thousands of dollars you lost because you were poor (With an EFC of 0) but simply missed the deadline.
