Can I start a PayPal account using a savings account?

0

Sometimes is the right answer. I had a savings account verified by PayPal but when I used it the transaction was reversed and I was charged 50 pence. I then used an identical savings account, apart from a different account number, and that worked. I have received no explanation from PayPal why they reversed the transaction, other than “it is a savings account”; but as you can see from the above some saving accounts are OK. So it is a random charge that you won’t know they will make until it happens. I complained and eventually did get my 50pence back and contacted the UK Ombudsman (mainly due to PayPal complaints “process”) as this is not “Treating Customers Fairly”, but as the charge is small, and I got it back, they were not worried. I just hope this is not a routine thing that PayPal do.
