Can I spend longer than 6 months studying on NU campus in Boston?
The short answer is YES. But I need to elaborate. The MSCCJ degree has a build-in option of allowing Chinese candidates to spend six months in Boston to complete internship and capstone courses during the last leg of their 18-month study. You only need to let us know with sufficient time to process your visa application related document. To spend up to 1 year studying in Boston as a candidate under the joint degree requires several additional steps: 1) you must complete your first two required courses taught by NU faculty in Xiamen (during the first summer) with a grade of A for both; 2) have strong recommendations from the NU faculty who taught those courses; and 3) send us a letter of request The Graduate Committee of the College of Criminal Justice will make a decision after reviewing your written request, your classroom performance and faculty recommendations. If you are granted for an extended period of study in Boston, you will attend the approved classes with your American class
