Clear your firfox cookies and cache and other history to improve the browser speed. to improve the mac pc performance remove the unwnated and unused aapplicationa and files from the mac pc.

call your isp eg verizon comcast and tell them upgrade your package at a good speed 45 min for that is good unless you get like a 9 Mbit speed mine is 3 Mbit for 50 a month im in the bahamas also cable is faster than dsl if you have it you might want to switch ( it also depends where you download the file from if the speed at the other end is slow well there is nothing you can do .
