Can I simply send the Commission a copy of a complaint I originally sent to the institution or to another agency?
You may send the Commission copies of letters or documents that you originally sent to the institution or other agencies. However, you must include a cover letter directed to the Commission that seeks review of your complaint through the Commission’s complaint process and provide the other items required by the Commission for review of a complaint. (See Instructions for Filing a Complaint with the Commission available on this website.) Keep in mind, however, that documents intended primarily for other audiences may fail to provide sufficient information to help the Commission determine whether it can proceed further with your complaint.
