You can shoot an xray video without a filter, but the camera has to be a modified one, an unmodified camera will show a white-washed picture To shoot high quality videos you need an infrared filter and have the camera in black & white mode. Under certain circumstances, an xray camera will shoot an xray video with out a filter. Please remember the IR LED on the camera only emits IR light to 10 to 12 feet.
