Can I share the LabelWriter on a network?
[Back to top] Yes. The LabelWriter is easy to network under Windows and Macintosh operating systems. The LabelWriter is supplied with standard Windows print drivers so you can print to it over any Windows based network. If you are running Novell Netware versions 4 or 5, you can plug the LabelWriter onto the network without any special hardware. If you have Novell Netware version 3.12 or older you will need to use a Parallel to Serial Converter to attach the LabelWriter to a parallel port on your network. This is because the older versions of Netware only support serial devices that run at 9600 and the LabelWriter printers all run at higher speeds. If you want to share the LabelWriter over a Macintosh network you will need an additional product called Portshare Pro, from Stalker Software. This product allows you to share a device connected to a serial port over your Macintosh network.
