Can I set tile over my terazzo floor without problems?

Terrazzo is polished chips of marble set in mortar. Marble absorbs oil, wax, and should be treated as a “hostile substrate”. The floor must be cleaned well, sometimes etched with acid. Then the only “Thin-set” mortar that can be used is acrylic enriched “Multi-purpose” Thin-set.
