A. No. The primary approved wood substrate for ceramic tile installations is APA (American Plywood Association) exterior grade plywood, C-C plugged or better. Other non-approved substrates include strip wood floors, particleboard, lauan plywood, hardboard, & treated plywood. CDX plywood requires the use of TA-392/393 Super Flex™ Premium Thin Set Mortar.
