If you’re prepared to leave your PC on, have Outlook open and set to check for new emails every minute or so – I think that will work. A better solution long-term is to find a webmail provider that lets you set an out of office message and also has a POP3 server – I think Yahoo ticks all the boxes. I personally use my own domain with email forwarding to my Yahoo account which I then download to Outlook.
