Unfortunately in many cases it is very difficult to ship any item that contains alcohol, even if the drink has already been taxed. Shipping alcohol across borders varies in legality from state to state and country to country, some places allow for one or two bottles to be imported while some states don’t allow anything alcoholic to be brought into the state unless it is brought by a state approved distributer. Most of these distributors only deal in cases, so a single bottle in a basket can be a problem. If you are giving the gift locally, you can order a basket without alcohol and then add the alcohol yourself when the basket arrives. Creating a custom basket is a viable alternative to shipping alcohol over borders.
