Per default the IMAP query interval is set to 5 minutes (for both: while on battery or while plugged on AC). So it may take up to 5 minutes until your SMS is finally sent out. When you finished a new SMS email in your mailbox you also have the option to directly query your IMAP mailbox via the ‘Query email-box for pending SMS mails’ button. This will look for new SMS emails in your mailbox and immediately send them out.
