Can I send an older sibling or grandparent to pick up a student during the day?
An older sibling or grandparent may pick up a student only when the Attendance Office can reach a parent on the phone to confirm it is okay to release the student. Absence Policy Attendance is taken very seriously at Green Hope. In any given semester, after five absences, a letter will be sent to parents. After 10 absences, a student is subject to failure. Please note that these 10 absences are per class and NOT per day. There is an appeal process. Following an absence from school, students have two (2) school days to present a parental note to the office. Please send in a note after your child has been out sick, so that his/her absence is marked as excused. Examples of unexcused absences include: missed bus, DMV, traffic, overslept, ride didn’t come, family trip, personal business, work.
