I wouldn’t counsel you to do this unless you have a spare Qube to do the testing with, but in theory you could have upgraded the sendmail at any time… even before EOL. The problem has been the possibility that Sun/Cobalt will release a patch that will not work properly with your Qube3. It seems less likely that anohter sendmail patch will be released, but I believe the EOL says they will continue patching in to 2006. Bottom Line: If you are clever you can do it. Just don’t load any Sun/Cobalt patches on top of it.
