There is no need to use wave timers for the VorTech product line because included out of the box are many different wave modes allowing you to simulate multiple ocean conditions in your aquarium. Also, small fish are more likely to go inside of the pump if it is switched off which can be dangerous to them. The use of a timer will result in Night Mode programming being lost, however all other settings will be stored within the pump’s memory. Due to these reasons, EcoTech Marine does not recommend the use of wave timers on VorTech pumps. TOP Q5.
