As specified in section 5.12(2) of the TDG Regulations and by reference, section 18 of CAN/CGSB-43.150, steel drums with a capacity greater than or equal to 150 L must not be reused to transport liquid dangerous goods in classes 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8 or 9 unless • the original nominal thickness of the top/body/bottom head of the drum is at least 1.0/1.0/1.0 or 1.1/0.8/1.1; and • the drum is reconditioned in accordance with the requirements specified in Part I of CAN/CGSB-43.126 before reuse if the original nominal thickness of the body or either head is less than 1.3 mm. Steel drums with a water capacity greater than or equal to 230 L must not be reused to transport liquid dangerous goods in classes 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8 or 9 unless the original nominal thickness of the body and heads is at least 1.8 mm.
