Can I reserve a vacation property for longer than 30 days? Can I reserve an unfurnished property for six months or longer?
A. Yes, many of our clients (especially in the offseason) will reserve a fully furnished vacation rental for 30, 60, or 90 days. If you reserve a rental for longer than 30 days, you will not be required to pay the City of San Diego Transient Occupancy Tax (T.O.T. tax, currently 10.5%). However, you will need to sign a residential lease, and be financially qualified, just as a long term tenant would need to do. We also have a large inventory of unfurnished long term rentals available in the coastal region of San Diego. These properties are generally available at competitive rents for 6 months to one year longer.
