Can I request a specific phone number or change my BT Broadband Talk number?
You can’t choose your BT Broadband Talk number. However, you may be able to choose how the number starts: • If your home phone services are provided by BT, your Broadband Talk number will begin with either 05 or the dialling code for your local area (e.g. 0191)*. You choose which type of number you want when you sign up • If you’re not a BT customer, your number will begin with 05 The type of number does not affect the price of calls to or from your Broadband Talk line. You can’t change your Broadband Talk number unless you cancel your Broadband Talk account and sign up again. *A few customers whose home telephone number starts with 0208 will be allocated a number starting with 0203, due to a shortage of available numbers in that area.
