Can I request a certification classification and discipline of registration?
No, an applicant cannot request a certification classification or discipline of registration. The Panel of Examiners assigns the discipline based on academics. The Certification Board assigns the classification based on academic and work experience assessments. Both work experience and academics must be assessed at the Technologist level to receive certification as Technologist. Technician classification is granted if both or either of work experience and academics are assessed at Technician. Associate classification is assigned when the academic and/or work experience requirements do not meet certification requirements.
