Taking up the toilet is not as big a deal as you think. If you do the floor right you will be so much happier with the end result. Use a plunger to push as much of the water down the toilet as you can and then using a wet vac or sponge get the rest of the water out of both the tank and the bowl. Next, undo the water connection under the toilet. Next loosen and take off the two bolts located at the base of the toilet. Then, with some help from another person worry the toilet straight up and lay it back so that you can clean the yucky old wax ring off the bottom of the bowl. Clean the rest of the wax ring of the flange (Large metal circle with two bolts sticking up out of it on the floor). Move the toilet out of the way while you do the floor.
