Can I remove rust form my bike or just prevent?
If the bike is 3 months old common household vinegar will remove the surface rust. Soak a paper towel in vinegar and them fold it and place it over the rust to keep it wet for a couple hours. If it light surface rust you can rub it with the vinegar and it will come right off. Treat any bare metal with oil afterwards. Just rub a light film on it to protect it from further rust. Touch up any nick spots in the paint. Then apply a coat of common auto wax to all the painted parts, following their label directions.
