Can I remove baked in brake dust with Dust Braker?

A. Dust Braker is not a restorer of permanently damaged rims. For the most part, baked in brake dust can only be removed with a harsh chemical based cleaner. Unfortunately, once the brake dust has been baked into your rims they will require more frequent cleaning once an acid based cleaner has been used to remove the baked in brake dust. This is because the rim’s otherwise smooth surface has been pitted by the caustic nature of hot brake dust and further pitted when acid is used to remove it. A vicious cycle is then established whereby more acid is needed to clean the rims and more pitting is created. Nevertheless, we recommend using Dust Braker to prevent brake dust from baking into the rims or after an acid based cleaner is used to remove baked in brake dust.
