NO you cannot upgrade the PS2 to play PS3 games. The PS2 isn’t a PC where you just upgrade the graphics card or RAM and your able to play games with higher resolution, it just doesn’t work that way. If you want to play PS3 games you’ll have to buy a PS3 just like me and the other 13-14 million other PS3 owners worldwide. However, if you had the correct Hardware/Software components and Blu-ray drive, you probably could upgrade a PS2 to play PS3 games, but it would be stupid to do so because you would end up spending more money and it would be cheaper to just buy a PS3. The PS3 has some very technological advanced parts in it, and some of the parts you can’t even find in a store like the Cell Processor and RSX chip. If you were to go out right now and buy a Blu-ray drive alone you would end up spending over $300 dollars and that doesn’t even include the other components that the PS3 uses such as the Cell Processor, Wifi chip, HDMI ports, and SO much more.
