Yes, you can perfectly trust threads made of PPSU. Both types of threads are just as reliable both from the technical and the functional points of view. As a matter of fact, PPSU threads perform better than metal threads. Here are some examples of it: PPSU threads can be deformed by force and recover their original shape without damage when the stress is removed, while metal threads do not recover their shape if deformed (just try it!) The mechanical strength of PPSU threads is 83 MPa while materials such as brass have a mechanical strength of 80 MPa. Cross-threading can be immediately corrected in the case of PPSU, but not in the case of metal threads. PPSU-threaded joints allow for the use of teflon tape, teflon thread sealant or any chemical sealant.
