Can i put a turbo on a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse?
You would be MUCH better off selling it and buying a GST (turbo) or GSX.(all-wheel-drive turbo). The turbo eclipses have a totally different engine than the non-turbo. The turbos have the Mitsubishi 4g63t engine which was designed to handle a lot of power and the added stress of a turbo (stock they are good for 450+ hp). The non-turbo GS and RS have the Chrysler 420a engine, which is used in the Dodge Neon, Avenger, Chrysler Cirrus, etc. It was designed for good gas mileage and definately not a turbocharger. The cars are totally different under the hood; the engine even sits the opposite way in the car. The wiring is also totally different between the cars. To turbo your car, you would need a whole kit that would probably cost at least $2500, and you will want to rebuild the engine if you want to make some real power (another couple thousand).
