Can I purchase service credit for public education experience gained by teaching out of state or for the federal government?
Beginning January 1, 2007, you will have an opportunity to purchase up to seven years of service credit for public education experience you have earned outside the Washington state retirement systems. The service credit you purchase will be considered membership service and you may use it to qualify for retirement or early retirement.
