Can I purchase a leased vehicle instead of assuming a lease?
Yes. All leased vehicles can be purchased prior to the lease end date. If you wish to purchase a leased vehicle, simply contact the original lessee and ask them find out from their leasing company the current pre-tax lease buyout of the lease. Once you know the amount, you can start the negotiation process with the lessee. Please keep in mind that in most cases you will be purchasing the vehicle from the original selling dealership, not the lessee or the leasing company. The purchase transaction will also be subject to both PST and GST.
