Can I play PS2 games online with a PS3 system?
It depends on the game and the PS3. Since the PS3 isn’t selling as well as hoped/planned, and because the expense of the machine is thought to be a big factor, Sony is trying to save money and drop the price. One thing that got axed as a result was backwards compatibility. So, many games will not be compatible but if your PS3 is older, more will be. I know that doesn’t help much.
