Can I place orders on odd lots on the TSX Venture Exchange?
The TSX Venture Exchange charges a premium when you want to buy or sell an odd lot. An odd lot is a volume of shares that is less than one board lot. As such, you cannot enter equity orders online that include an odd lot on TSX Venture Exchange. What happens if I place an order online but I do not have sufficient margin to cover the trade? All online orders are screened for sufficient margin, as per securities regulations. When you place an order to purchase securities, sufficient margin must be in your account in advance of the trade. To ensure that you have sufficient margin to cover the trade before placing the order, simply make a deposit to your BMO InvestorLine account beforehand.
