Can i place frozen breast milk directly into hot boil water?
Never put breast milk into hot boiling water! It can cause very hot spots that can burn baby, even if you test the milk and it seems cool (like I said, hot SPOTS). Also, boiling water will kill nutrients in the milk. Instead, take several of the frozen milk packets out of the freezer the day before and allow them to thaw in the refrigerator. When you are ready to feed the baby, pick the oldest packet out first and just run them under hot water in the sink or float the packet in a bowl of hot water (like from the tap, but not boiling). If your baby is receptive, you can even give the milk cold… it doesn’t HAVE to be warmed. One of my sisters was able to give her baby the milk cold and it was a godsend for her – think of it – if you are out at a store or a fair or whatever, you can just give the child a bottle straight out of your cooler! Also – I agree that you should buy the freezer bags specifically for breast milk (found in the baby isle in the grocery store or mega-market). Be sur
