Can I personally sharpen a Tungsten Carbide Tipped blade?

The answer is generally no! As you can see in the photo, specialised equipment & knowledge is needed to properly sharpen a TCT blade. A good quality blade can be effectively sharpened by a specialist between 12 & 15 times depending (of course) on the amount of wear. In fact, our expert advised that cabinet makers in particular keep their blades maintained in a very sharp condition. They can often exceed the maximum number of 15 re-sharpens as each time the blade is re-sharpened it only requires very little removal of the TCT material to regain its cutting edge.
