First of all, be aware that some Middlebury alums have opted out of the online directory entirely. Their names will not appear in a search. Some other search issues: Most search problems are due to spelling errors. Check your spelling carefully. Use only as much information as you’re sure is accurate. For example, if you are not sure whether an alum’s last name is “Hutchison” or “Hutchinson,” type in “Hutch.” If you are unsure whether the first name is “Sue” or “Susan,” type in “Su.” To narrow your search, fill in multiple fields. For example, by typing “Smith” in the “Last Name” field and “Cincinnati” in the city field, all records of people with the last name Smith who live in Cincinnati will be found. Try using “wildcard” searches. For example, by typing “%Disney” in the “Company Name” field, all records containing Wal

Sometimes less is more. The search features in the Jacket Community are sensitive to misspellings. Try putting in partial information, such as the beginning of a last name and the first initial of a first name. Not all fields must be filled in, so you might try searching on last name and leave off the first name, middle name, class year etc. entirely.
