Can I pay for Hajj or Umrah packages using my credit cards?
Dar Al-Islam accepts personal checks and cashier checks for processing your Hajj or Umrah application. According to Islamic Shareea, a credit card is a form of debt that you will pay in the future. You cannot borrow money to perform Hajj or Umrah. You can only make Hajj or Umrah when you have the money. This is the very first condition stated in the Quran on Hajj: “.. Upon Those Who Can Afford It.” The affordability includes health and financial abilities. In addition, if you miss the due date of the payment, you will be subject to Ribaa (interest and late fees). And when you go for Hajj, you will be seeking purification from sins, not accumulation of sins.
