Can I pay for a new car with a Visa credit card? If not, do dealers require a certified or cashiers check?
Most dealers will take a credit card as partial payment of a vehicle, but generally they will not let you pay for the entire vehicle on a credit card. Since the credit card companies charge a 2-3% transaction fee on every purchase, it could cost the dealer hundreds of dollars in fees if they put the entire amount on a card.
