Can I overwrite Exl-Plans projections with actuals?
In theory, yes. In practice, with difficulty. Refer to Updating Projections with Actuals in the manual or on-line help. A much better use of Exl-Plan in this context is to do analysis of variances by placing year-to-date actuals alongside the original projections – refer to Incorporating Actuals with Projections in the manual or on-line help. An extension of this approach would be to create reports which combine actuals for the year-to-date with projections for the remainder of the year. Alternatively, have a look at the Super version of Exl-Plan which has a facility to produce updated first-year projections of sales and profitability by combining year-to-date actuals with projections for remaining months of the year.
