Can I order a 1kW system but with a larger inverter for future expansion?

Unfortunately it’s not possible to have the Fronius IG-15 with the 6 panels on the 1kW system. The 1kW system was designed for the lowest entry level cost, so to upgrade it you will need to replace the inverter with a larger one when you want to add panels, or to add another complete 1kW system with a second inverter. The 1.5kW and 2kW systems are designed to be easily expandable and have the option to put in a larger inverter on day 1, for a few hundred dollars extra, so later you can just add panels, frames and possibly cabling. The obvious question is why can’t a larger inverter be added to the 1kW system? There is a technical reason, to get the required voltage for the larger and more expensive inverter would require 8 panels instead of 6 (allowing for panel performance degradation on very hot days), meaning the total cost would have been perhaps $2000+ higher than the current cost, meaning many people couldn’t afford it.
