Can I opt out of paying UU fees if I won’t be using the Recreation Center during construction?
The UU fee is a mandatory student fee that supports the programs, services and operations of the Recreation Center, University Union and Sports Complex. Students may not opt out of this type of fee. As promised during the referendum process, the Recreation Center will remain open during construction with operating hours unchanged. As a result, the resources required to operate and maintain the Recreation Center will not change. Staffing costs, facility hours and utility costs will remain virtually the same and the pool will be open.
