Currently Lotus Symphony and Microsoft Office use different algorithms for document encryption and decryption. In Microsoft Office XP/2003, some additional encryption algorithms are provided based on CryptoAPI. Lotus Symphony does not support opening or saving encrypted Microsoft Office documents.
