Can I mow and maintain my lawn and landscaping if it’s located in a prairie or Oregon white oak habitat area?
Yes. All legally existing uses, including lawns and landscaping, are allowed in prairie areas and buffers. The county can, however, require property owners to use best management practices to avoid harmful impacts to prairies and Oregon white oak habitat areas. However, existing prairies and oak habitat may not be converted to new non-native landscaped areas.
