Can i move tiger lilies in Michigan in March?

0

Tiger Lillies are almost indestructable. I live in Indiana and mine are just starting to poke through the ground. I plan on moving mine tomorrow and the weather forecast here on Sunday is a chance of snow showers. As long as once you move them you mulch really well they will be fine. Now is also a good time to divide them if they need to be thinned out. Do not add any fertilizer or Miracle Gro right now. That can burn the root system and they will be a bit “shocky” for awhile. Wait till fall to fertilize and be sure to mulch again before Winter. I don’t know about the Dahlias. I know they are not as hardy as the Lillies. I have never had good luck with them. Hope this will help out.
