Can I move my large camelia bush?

0

With all due respect,it’ll probably take a crane to move a shrub as described, especially including a large root ball and soil. It’s doubtful if it would be possible to move the shrub without breaking the tap root and it would be difficult for the plant to become established in a new site. This is because the camellia is evergreen and is constantly transpiring water, also if moved it would be liable to wind rock which would prevent the formation of new fibrous roots to feed the plant. It would be best to leave the Camellia in situ, pruning when growth restarts in Spring. This can be done by removing any dead, dying or diseased wood.Cut any branches close to the ground and treat with “Arbrex” or similar to avoid fungal infection of the wound. Aim to produce a balanced shrub, with equal growth on all sides.
